Q:

How is the relationship between Fischer & Kerrn and Microsoft, and can I be sure that CONCIERGE SERVICES supports future versions of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook?

A:

Fischer & Kerrn A/S is a ISV partner with Microsoft and has therefore access to new versions of Microsoft Office / Microsoft Exchange at a early state of time. This means, that Fischer & Kerrn is among the first outside Microsoft who are receiving new releases, often about 12 months before they are released.

With a service agreement on CONCIERGE SERVICES you are making sure, that your CONCIERGE SERVICES installation supports future versions of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook.

Q:

How much space does the booking of a meeting (kb) require on the Microsoft Exchange server?

A:

That depends on the number of participants that are requested to attend the meeting, on catering being requested and how much text there have been used in the description field in the appointment.

A booking for a meeting is in average the size of 1 kb.

Q:

How is CONCIERGE SERVICES handling rights and security?

A:

Rights for resources and folders are handled as usual through Microsoft Exchange System Manager and through Microsoft Outlook in connection with granting of reading rights to the calendar of every meeting room. As for security, CONCIERGE SERVICES is using Microsoft Outlook Security Settings.

Q:

What extra strains could CONCIERGE SERVICES have on the Microsoft Exchange server?

A:

CONCIERGE SERVICES does not have any additional strains to the Microsoft Exchange server.

Core data is collected from a public folder on the Microsoft Exchange Server. Core data is cached locally at the user and is only causing strains to the Microsoft Exchange server in case of changes. CONCIERGE ROOMS asks on free/busy time like the Microsoft Outlook client, which not likely put any strains on the Microsoft Exchange server.

Q:

CONCIERGE SERVICES is installed as add-ins for Microsoft Outlook. Which are these and how are they to be installed?

A:

We assume that a system to deploy software packages (as SMS, Tivoli etc.) is being used. Our add-ins are delivered as .msi packages for this purpose exactly. We refer to the Technical Manual for explanation of the .msi packages that CONCIERGE SERVICES consist of.

Does CONCIERGE SERVICES work on Terminal server and Citrix server?

A:

Yes, CONCIERGE SERVICES work on both Terminal Server and Citrix Server.

Does CONCIERGE SERVICES work with Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2007?

A:

Yes, CONCIERGE SERVICES work with both Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2007.

CONCIERGE SERVICES supports the following Microsoft Exchange platforms:

  • Microsoft Exchange 5.5
  • Microsoft Exchange 2003
  • Microsoft Exchange 2007


CONCIERGE SERVICES supports following Microsoft Outlook platforms:

Q:

What needs to be installed on the Microsoft Exchange server in order to use CONCIERGE SERVICES?

A:

No installation on the Microsoft Exchange server is required. CONCIERGE SERVICES must instead be installed on the client machines, from where CONCIERGE is to be used. This is most easily done with a deployment tool such as Group Policy or MSI-package.

CONCIERGE SERVICES also need 2 public folders.

  • A folder for the CONCIERGE configuration data.
  • A folder for Microsoft Outlook Security Settings.
